Human trafficking for sex and labor is a 32 billion dollar business.  Although many people believe this tragedy exists only in third world countries, there are between 100,000 and 300,000 children being sold for sex or for labor in this country -- not foreign children being imported, but our own citizens.  At this forum, we will learn what human trafficking is and the extent to which it exists in Anne Arundel County and surrounding areas.

GUEST SPEAKERS

  • Nancy Winston, Shared Hope International
  • Julie Janovsky, the Polaris Project
  • Sidney Ford, Victim Services and Public Awareness, Maryland Human Trafficking Task Force
  • Dan Dickey, Special Enforcement Unit, Anne Arundel County Police Department
