DERAILING THE IMPACT OF EARLY CHILDHOOD TRAUMA
AAWGT General Meeting - Education
Wednesday, February 15
11:30 - 1:30
Annapolis Friends Meeting House
351 Dubois Rd., Annapolis, MD 21401*
The ages zero to five are crucial in a child's development and ultimate ability to be a productive member of society. They impact not only a child's health, but emotional well being well into adulthood. Trauma in the form of abuse or neglect can have a major impact.
This program will help family members, educators, and community workers understand the hidden impacts of trauma, help you identity trauma symptoms, and highlight the healthiest paths forward for affected children. Leading the presentation will be national expert, Joan Gillece, Ph.D. She is Director of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s National Center for Trauma Informed Care, and Director of the National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors’ Center for Innovation in Trauma-Informed Approaches.
All are welcome to this free program.
