Grant Update for 2022
We are pleased that in 2022 Anne Arundel Women Giving Together will again be awarding grants to support our mission to improve the lives of women and families in Anne Arundel County. For the past six months, we have been working to make changes to our grant program, including the application. AAWGT is excited to share updates about those changes.
First, our Call for 2022 Grant Applications will go out on January 3, 2022. The deadline for receiving completed applications will be Friday, February 11, 2022 at 11:59pm.
Second, if your organization is thinking about applying for a grant, we want to provide some information to help you prepare.
For 2022 there will be a single type of grant. AAWGT will consider applications from a wide variety of organizations as we have in the past. Rather than have separate grant types, AAWGT will communicate a special “focus” for the grant cycle.
The 2022 Focus Statement:
Grants will be awarded in amounts from $5,000 to $20,000. Going forward, organizations that receive grants for two consecutive years will not be eligible to apply for the following two years.
Applicants will be asked to identify if and how the needs identified in “Poverty Amidst Plenty” are considered in their proposal. This CFAAC report can be downloaded here: https://www.aacounty.org/boards-and-commissions/partnership-for-children-youth-families/forms-and-publications/2018-needs-assessment-poverty.pdf
The number of questions for applicants has been greatly reduced and concise responses are encouraged. In addition to other basic questions, the following questions will be asked and are offered here to help you as you begin to plan your proposal:
What is the need addressed in your proposal?
How does your proposal address the principles of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)?
Describe how your organization will achieve the goals for the proposal.
Partner organizations that will be actively participating in your efforts
There are only three financial documents required this year:
Current Operating Budget (with revenues and expenses)
As in prior years, applying organizations must be a 501(c)(3) or have a fiscal sponsor who is registered with the Maryland Secretary of State and is in Good Standing with the Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation. All grant dollars awarded by AAWGT must be used to benefit women and families located in Anne Arundel County.
AAWGT remains committed to helping all women and families in Anne Arundel County address challenges that impact their quality of life. We have broadened our commitment to issues of equity by adopting a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) lens for our entire grant process.
An informational application workshop will be held on January 13, 2022 on Zoom. Two similar sessions will be held at 9:30am and 1:30pm. Registration for either session will be available after the call is released on January 3, 2022.
Anne Arundel Women Giving Together is proud to support organizations that help women and families in Anne Arundel County. We are looking forward to receiving grant proposals in 2022.
