Message from LeadershipA Year to Remember2023 has been an amazing year so far for AAWGT. We hit a new high in the number of grant applications we received and in the grant dollars we were able to award. We held one or more events virtually every month, all with more attendance than in previous years. We are excited and grateful that our philanthropic message is being heard as we welcome many new members of all ages. We are delighted that our membership has now grown to over 300 women. Child Resource Connect In 2021, Maryland Family Network proposed that Prince George’s Child Resource Center, Inc., now doing business as Child Resource Connect (CRC), assume responsibility for the child care capacity of Arundel Child Care Connections, Inc. (ACCC). Child Resource Connect (CRC) expanded its services into Anne Arundel County in January 2022, a move that leveraged existing infrastructure to increase internal efficiency while expanding our external capacity to serve more child professionals and the families they serve. Child Resource Connect (CRC) helps create healthy and nurturing environments for children by supporting their families and educating their caregivers. We envision a future of high-quality, accessible child care, strong families, connected and informed communities, as well as community-focused policies and practices. Read more/lessChild Resource Connect, with funding and support from Anne Arundel Women Giving Together, will improve support for its Anne Arundel County Child Care Support Services (CCSS) program by offering providers comprehensive coaching and support while ensuring families have the knowledge and resources to access appropriate child care programs. As a family resource specialist, one of the services we provide is parent navigation and resources. This was evident in a recent parent testimonial: “Good afternoon Ms. Adams…. I just spoke with one of your employees, Lenore. She gave me some very valuable information. Her customer service was outstanding, and I just want to make sure she’s recognized for a job well done. Please make sure you recognize Lenore for doing a job above and beyond by providing information and resources and even contacting personnel to ensure I had the right number.
