Faith in Action: An Interview with Brian & Patty Giese

At the Brian & Patricia Giese Foundation, generosity is not simply an act—it is a calling. Founded in 2021 by Brian, a visionary entrepreneur, and Patty, a devoted nurse and children’s advocate, the Foundation stands on the belief that loving God and loving others is the highest purpose of life. 

Q: Tell us about your foundation.
Our Foundation is rooted in faith. We are committed to supporting nonprofits in the greater Annapolis area through strategic grants that empower programs, strengthen families, and create lasting community impact. Our mission is bold—we invest in faith-inspired ideas with the power to change the world.

After Brian’s successful career founding and leading AI/data company True Influence, we felt called to channel our blessings into service. Our faith shapes every decision, guiding us to pursue autonomy, uphold political freedom, and fund causes that honor the Lord through faithful stewardship.

We don’t focus on just one issue. Instead, we look for opportunities where innovation and philanthropy intersect, such as projects that break down barriers, challenge the status quo, and inspire fresh solutions. We like to think of our giving as “jet fuel” for strong, healthy organizations—helping them scale, innovate, and boldly serve for Jesus.

Q: Why did you choose Annapolis as your home base?
Annapolis has such a deep sense of history, a connection to the Chesapeake Bay, and a vibrant community spirit. Here, faith, family, and community life are woven together in a way that feels both welcoming and purposeful. All our children and grandchildren live in Annapolis. We prefer to give where we live. 

We love the beauty of the water, the warmth of the people, and the opportunity to build meaningful relationships that strengthen the place we now call home.

Q: Tell us about your involvement in Anne Arundel County.
We were honored to serve as a presenting investor for the 2025 Annapolis Film Festival, launching “The Faith Experience” showcase with Angel Studios.

We have invested in Grace Bomb and Estuary to expand the gospel beyond the walls of the church. We have supported the Family Faith Day presented by the Brighter Media Group “BrightFM” and the 2025 Student Conference with Lighthouse Covenant Church and Bay Area Community Church—a new collaboration serving youth.

One of our proudest moments was partnering with The Salvation Army of Annapolis to launch the Red Shield Youth Center, a new after-school program for children. 

Looking ahead, we are excited to invest in Anne Arundel County YoungLife as they begin to expand into more schools throughout the county.

Q: Any final thoughts?
We are committed to supporting visionary leaders and organizations that connect people, inspire hope, and advance God’s kingdom. Together, we can raise up future generations grounded in faith and ready to impact the world. Because when faith meets generosity, communities are transformed.
